I was born in Cardiff, Wales and started running as a teenager in the early 80’s, initially as a way of keeping fit for my High School football (soccer) & rugby teams. In 1983 my rugby coach persuaded me to enter my first road race – the Cardiff Half Marathon. I finished in the top 30% and from that point on was hooked.

I enjoy racing everything from a 5k to a 50k and have also been known to participate in triathlons ranging from Sprint to Ironman distance events. My favorite race distance is the Marathon and I’ve been lucky enough to compete at London (x2), Boston (x2), Lanzarote, Shamrock (x6), Richmond (x3), Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Frederick, MD (x2), Cardiff (UK) Charlotte, NC and Washington DC (x3).

I moved to Virginia Beach in January 2001 and married my wife Allyson who is also a keen runner/triathlete. We have a daughter Shannon who is a senior at the College of William & Mary. Shannon has worked at Running Etc. since her freshman year at Landstown.

I work as a Web Designer by day but also design and maintain several web sites in my spare time. The Running Etc. Web Site is my latest creation!

• Most memorable race: Probably breaking 3 hours for the first time at the 2001 Richmond Marathon (2:59:36)
• Pre-race Meal: Macaroni Cheese washed down with Guinness
• Favorite work out: Yasso 800s
• Current Race goal: Have fun in the 2010 Cayman Islands Marathon.
